Autumn weddings are advantageous because they do not come with the heat of summer or cold of winter. Autumn is also a very beautiful time of year in most states. Couples who are getting married in autumn may have a hard time deciding on a wedding theme, however. Hawaiian and winter wonderland wedding themes do not work for couples who are getting married during the fall season. Here are some suggestions on themes which do work for this time of year.
Autumn Colors Wedding Theme
Why not embrace the beauty of autumn when planning a wedding during this time of year? When choosing bridesmaid dresses and decorations, opt for classic autumn colors. These include deep shades of maroon, yellow, orange, brown and gold. Wedding centerpieces and the wedding cake can consist of candles and flowers in these colors.
Also consider autumn leaves, Indian corn, pumpkins and other items which are typically associated with the fall season.
Halloween Wedding Theme
A Halloween wedding theme can be ideal for couples getting married at the end of October. Some brides may choose to go all out and wear a black wedding dress. Others simply may pick bridesmaid dresses which are black with an orange sash to hint at the theme. Carved pumpkins and Reese’s pieces candy pieces can make great centerpieces. There is also the option of allowing the guests to wear Halloween costumes.
Autumn Leaves Wedding Theme
Anyone who leaves fall foliage may consider an autumn leaves wedding theme. An outdoor wedding in an area where there is a lot of foliage is ideal. Select bridesmaid dresses which coordinate with the color of autumn leaves, such as burnt orange, yellow or brown.
Some brides may even have their bridesmaids carry leaves in place of flowers, but co-ordinating colored flowers can work fine. Leaves can be used for the centerpieces, and faux leaves can make a great addition to the wedding cake.
Apple Wedding Theme
Couples who are looking for a more unique wedding theme for autumn may want to think about an apple theme. Red or burgundy can be ideal bridesmaid dress colors. The centerpieces can consist of apples and faux autumn leaves. The wedding cake may even consist of an apple design. Appletinis can make great signature drinks. Wedding favors may consist of caramel apple dip or candied apples. When choosing an apple wedding theme, be sure to consider getting married in an apple orchard.
Keep in mind that couples who get married in autumn can consider other wedding themes. To choose a wedding theme which is suitable for this time, find one which does not rely on a season. Fairytale wedding themes, for example, can be used at any time during the year.
